Taking Back Your Power
Encountering what we perceive to be someone’s “bad” behavior is inevitable. Parent, friend, colleague, entrepreneur, no matter what role we are playing at any given moment, we will inevitably face these perceived ‘bad’ behaviors. The KEY to owning our own reactions and actions is to know that we have a choice whether or not we want to fight lower with lower, or be the rising tide that lifts all boats. Shift the dynamic that allows the initial sting inflicted by the negative event, so it is not as painful, but more so an opportunity to invite others into a more loving/productive space.
Who we are Anywhere is Who we are Everywhere
For the longest time, I always prided myself on my ability to compartmentalize, especially because I work within the family business.

One big reason why I love our awareness assessment tool, Mindscan, is because it really uncovers how someone is showing up in the here and now, in time and space. Yes, certain patterns tend to show up no matter what, however, results are based on WHEN someone takes the assessment, therefore providing its participants with really awesome opportunities to shift in their being, doing and thinking.

Hard/Easy, Easy/Hard
Before we learn the disciplines, it’s critical that the “hard-easy/easy-hard” concept is understood.
“Hard-easy” refers to those things in life that initially appear to be difficult, yet in the long run they make life much easier and more enjoyable.
Peace + Productivity Game Plan Phase Two
Anyone else looking back on the MAYhem of last month and really ready for some peace?! Why the Law of Attraction Doesn't Work
The Law of Attraction doesn’t work.
At least, not the way it’s been taught and how most people try to apply it.
Millions of people have seen or read The Secret and believe in the Law of Attraction, but have been very disappointed with their poor results in using it.
Fall is right around the corner...
If you’re anything like me, you’re starting to wind down summer, doing your best to soak up the last few days as the sun sets earlier and earlier each night. For some of you, kids are already back to school and that routine has already set in. Some of you are preparing for the college drop off, settling into the idea of empty nesting, or being down one less kiddo in the house. For others, there is still a few weeks left before the madness sets in.
How to do 'the work' during the hustle and bustle of summer...
SUMMER! It feels surreal to sit back and think about the fact that we’re already halfway through JULY, am I right?? But with sun, warmth and no school for the kiddos comes late nights, parties, pools, beaches, the list goes on! AND for some of us…exhaustion.
Ok, so what is Mindfulness?
In the last several years, Mindfulness has become a hot topic. Everyone’s talking and writing about it. But, what exactly is it . . . and why does it matter?
Mindfulness is a present moment, non-judgmental awareness, paying attention to what’s going on in the present moment without judging it as good or bad.

A New Year Newsletter
For some of us this new year has brought us back to square one, for others it’s just another day and date that we must get used to writing. However, for most of us, it provides hope + motivation for change. Regardless of your experience, what does this new year mean to YOU? What does that change look like?
For those still recovering from quarantine...
You are not alone.
Maybe you’re sick of hearing about COVID, and I wouldn’t blame you. Whether you were hurt physically, financially, psychologically, or all of the above- one thing is for sure, you are definitely not alone.
It may be spooky season...
…but we all know that fear and worry can happen at any time. It’s a part of our biological make up. There’s actually a small part of our brain (the basal ganglia) that was created solely to survive; actively driving our fears, doubts and worries. It is the “fight or flight” response that REACTS to situations and experiences. This reptilian brain is the old guy on the block and one tough guy to manage sometimes. Whereas being reactive can be useful in some situations (like when we’re running away from ghosts!) more times than not it creates dysfunctionality within our world.
The Goal of Meditation: Not a Blank Mind
In the 1990’s, neuroscientists led by Marcus Raichle of Washington University in St. Louis made a shocking discovery. They were researching energy and oxygen consumption by the brain expecting energy and oxygen consumption to increase when the brain is performing a complex task.
